PAPER & PULP INDUSTRY APPLICATIONS

Engineered hardfacing solutions for the most challenging wear environments.

Paper has been made typically from “pulping” or crushing fibrous plant or woody material into its cellulose components using either friction and/or chemicals. Abrasion, corrosion, pressure and temperature cause wear problems throughout the production process, right from the fresh wood with debarking, chipping, pulping and washing. Specially engineered hardfacing solutions using powerful anti-wear materials such as tungsten carbides in a corrosion resistant nickel matrix are a must to combat the complex wear issues arising in these paper and pulp processes.

From debarking and grinding wood feed stock to rolling out the finished paper product, Hardcarb can help make your processes more efficient and keep your equipment running longer between outages. We have developed long lasting Carbide solutions for raw material processing, pulping, dewatering, co-generation, and many other tough wear problems usually seen in this Industry. Following are a few examples where Hardcarb anti-wear solutions are regularly offered:

  • Raw material handling – debarking teeth, chipping teeth, grinding hammers, screw feeders.

  • Pulp mill – Pulper, detrashing, disc sorters and coarse screening.

  • De-watering – centrifuge scroll tiles.

  • Co-generation – hammers, feed injection fans.

Since Hardcarb is a 360o solution provider with a comprehensive portfolio of wear protection products, we are not limited to just one solution while providing engineered hardfacing solutions for the paper and pulp industry. This also enables us to carry out an unbiased examination, and to propose designs for your plant components and assemblies which offer the ideal techno-economically optimized solution.
