The Company started operations by late 1999 as a joint-venture with a leading German Company who were one of the early inventors of composite wearplates using the bulk welding process. Initially, the Company started producing a full range of premium composite wearplates and fabricated components made thereof.

After receiving an excellent initial market response, the Indian group decided to put in additional investments with an ambitious expansion plan in place. During this time, the wearplate capacity was upgraded and the Company relocated to a much larger facility in Rabale, Navi Mumbai. From this time on, the Indian group became the majority shareholders.

Hardcarb designs and manufactures its first generation in-situ hardfacing equipment “Flexi-clad X1”. This equipment is specifically designed for refurbishment of Vertical Mill rollers and tables.

Hardcarb launches its liteplates in 3+3, 4+2 and other such combinations. The unique feature being presence of primary carbides and borides throughout the overlay thickness.

Second generation Flexi-clad X2 is launched with modular design methodology and artificial intelligence capabilities. This version also allows automated hardfacing of pipes and screws.

Hardcarb designs and manufactures its own flux-cored wire line after more than 3 years of research and development

Flexiclad X3 is launched with many powerful features such as compact size, taper beads, remote troubleshooting, advanced software etc.

A family of new generation iron-based superalloys are launched with a major focus on high temperature applications. These alloys also serve as a low-cost replacement to traditional tungsten carbide alloys.
